CC PRODUCTS-Wrecking Ball
Seeking a new challenge, Chris decided to build a new bike for the less restrictive Pro Twins class for 1992. Work began in earnest on the bike which would become the "Wrecking Ball", ultimately the fastest BMW pushrod twin racer in America. Development on this bike continued steadily over the years and included a host of CC Products innovations. A 1050 kit raised the displacement, our long rod conversion helped increase torque, Mikuni flat slide racing carbs were fitted, the internal oiling system was entirely reworked, and internally the engine featured CC high lift roller rocker arms, a special cam, oversize CC High Flow valves, CC pushrods, a knife edged crank and a very special CC porting job. The chassis was equally innovative. A CC modified Paralever swingarm was fitted to the rear end and the modified front end included GSXR forks, racing brakes and a wide rim mag. Due to time constraints the "Wrecking Ball" was never able to run the full slate of races in a season, but even with limited outing it is a consistent podium finisher in this very competitive class and in 1995 Kurt Mund finished 2nd overall for the season.
